In addition, he has been a licensed realtor for nearly a decade. Raised in a military household and shaped by his athletic endeavors, Michael developed a strong sense of self-determination, teamwork, and an indomitable will. These qualities have enabled him to lead multi-million-dollar projects and mentor young individuals in his field. Michael is deeply passionate about empowering others, especially youth, in helping them realize their potential and to pursue their ambitions with confidence. Through mentoring, he strives to equip the next generation with the tools, mindset, and skills needed to succeed and make meaningful contributions to society.
Co-founder, and Vice President: Olimpia’ brings over 30 years of executive experience in the luxury retail industry, having led client development and relationship management for global brands. As a pioneer in creating personalized client engagement programs, she played a key role in launching strategies now widely adopted across many luxury brands. Olimpia’s passion for mentorship, especially for underserved youth, inspired her to co-found Hammer and Chisel, were she leads strategic planning, community outreach, and donor engagement. Known for her deep compassion and tireless work ethic, Olimpia has built strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, celebrities, and philanthropists. Her ability to connect with people and create meaningful partnerships is central to the organization’s mission. A self-taught English speaker and first-generation immigrant, Olimpia is living proof that determination, kindness, and vision can open doors and transform lives.
CFO, and Treasurer: Kevin Smith brings over 35 years of experience in leadership, mentoring, and financial management. He has served as a Bank Manager at Citibank and Bank of America, overseeing client accounts, compliance, and financial planning, and previously worked with New York Life Insurance guiding clients in retirement planning. Kevin also ran his own retail business for seven years, managing all bookkeeping and operations firsthand. Alongside his career, he has dedicated decades to mentoring youth through basketball, teaching teamwork, leadership, and life lessons. In every role, Kevin emphasizes trust, accountability, and client care-principles he now applies to ensure every donation to Hammer and Chisel is responsibly managed to create brighter futures for young people.
